Was stoked to present the Harcourts Sprint Ace to Keegan Hornblow after the Lumsden stage of the Cycling Tour of Southland.
These cyclist are amazing, dedication and at the peak of their careers racing around a 160klm a day for a week.
The fitness levels required are mind blowing when you think about it.
And it was interesting to learn that Keegan is an Olympian competing at the 2024 Summer Olympics and has been very successgul around the world both on the track and road disciplines.
My old hometown Lumsden turned on a great day and we had an enjoyable lunch at the legendary Route 66 Cafe.
A great day and proud to be part of the Harcourts team that have been sponsors of this race for many many years.

Sometimes it’s nice to share something personal happening in your life, let’s face it it’s not always about work.
I would like to introduce to you our first great grandchild, yes you read correct, our first great grandchild, Niko, born on Tuesday to our eldest granddaughter Chloe and her partner Mannie.
Here is Niko with myself, my wife Sue and two of our 6 grandchildren Mila and Hadlee, who are now an uncle and an aunty.
Another bundle of joy to welcome into the fold.

In this industry we often advertise the sold sign, or happy clients putting up the sold sign, and so on, which is great.
I started my real estate career in 1989, so a few years ago now.
And this industry never ceases to amaze me.
One such experience was today.
I will not mention the address, or my buyers, in order to protect their privacy.
But here was the scenario.
My first home buyers meet at the property to put up the obligatory sold sign.
They then asked if I could take a photo under the pergola, and I happily agreed.
Then he went down on bended knee and proposed which she accepted.
It was a special special moment which I managed to record for them.
I felt very privileged to be part of it, and it was a definite first.
Amazing.

Just popped a sold sign on 518 Yarrow Street.
Even after all these years in the industry I still love the opportunity to sell to first home buyers, and share in their excitement about finally getting onto the property ladder.
This sale was no exception.
Emma, my first home buyer, had great family support and showed huge enthusiasm in securing her first home.
Just makes it all worth while for myself and Sue, and we share in that excitement.
