Monthly Property Market update March 2020:

“Auckland & NZ hit Record Median prices before Covid-19 hit”

House prices across NZ increased by 13.7% in March to a new record median price of $665,000 up from $585,000 in March 2019 and 8 regions saw new record median prices!
Bindi Norwell, Chief Executive at REINZ says: “What we can say is before Covid-19 Hit New Zealand shores, the property market was in a strong period of growth. How big the effects of covid-19 is up for debate, but the impact will demand on huge number of factors including how long the country is in Alert Level 4 Lockdown for, the level of unemployment, consumer and business confidence levels, people’s ability to access finance (and their own mortgages) and how long the economy takes to recover.”

Property is a long-term investment and the market WILL recover the question is, how long will it take’s to recover?

Southland Median Sales price is now $374,580 up 28.2%
Invercargill Median Sales price is now $370,000 compared to February 2020 $327,500.
