Hi everyone!

We are excited to announce that we are shifting our physical office just upstairs, to share with Law North. As many of you will know, Swift is a division of Law North, and we use their facilities and meeting rooms already. Law North has had an internal reshuffle and this has made some office space available for Swift. It also means we will have the support of the Law North reception team, which will help with scheduling and greeting clients. Please still feel free to call in at any time, we are always happy to discuss matters with you!

CHANGES TO THE RESIDENTIAL TENANCIES ACT

Did you know that there were some key changes introduced to the Residential Tenancies Act on 30 January 2025?

If you have a residential property that you are looking at selling it may be a good idea to investigate some of the key changes to your obligations under the Tenancy Act.

One of these key changes is that where a property has an unconditional sale agreement requiring vacant possession, the notice period has now been reduced down to 42 days’ notice for notices issued from 30 January 2025.

If you are looking at selling your residential investment property, please remember that SWIFT offers free sale and purchase agreement reviews and is happy to assist with any questions you may have.

Changes to the Brightline rules coming 1 July 2024 👍👍

From 1 July 2024 the brightline rules are changing. If you sell your property after 1 July 2024, the brightline period is reduced from 5 or 10 years to 2 years. IRD’s website has more information of this, see the link below.

Mana is a Legal Executive offering Fixed Fee Conveyancing alongside Danielle Hoffman

Mana originally joined the SWIFT team in 2012 and is thoroughly enjoying being back amidst the busy yet familiar SWIFT environment.

Mana has resided in the Far North most of her life and now raises 3 young and energetic boys.

In Mana’s spare time, she enjoys creating memorable moments with her boys, training at the gym, surfing or spending time at the beach.

Meet the Team: Celebrating 10 years!

At the start of April 2014 Danielle joined the SWIFT team, moving home to Northland from Auckland. Since joining us in 2014, she has worked in the SWIFT office with Gina and Alex, moving on to the main Law North office for a number of years before returning to SWIFT in 2021 to take over the management in Gina’s place. It’s a testament to SWIFT’s success (and Gina’s hard work) that SWIFT has been here during Danielle’s full time in Kerikeri.

Here’s to another 10 years and lots more fun to come…
