Saying "NO thanks" can feel expensive

This week I walked away from a proposal to a Developer for multiple projects that could’ve paid out over half a million dollars in commission.

On paper, it looked like an opportunity.
In reality, it wasn’t the right fit.

After meeting the developer and digging deeper into their lack of track record, sales history, market alignment, and internal leadership, it became clear that taking this on would compromise something far more valuable than revenue: my brand, my standards, and the trust I’ve built with buyers and the wider market.

At Office Road, I stand by a simple belief:
If I wouldn’t personally buy from a builder or developer, I won’t put my name behind them and I won’t expect my market to either.

My role isn’t to take every listing.
My role is to protect the integrity of the product I represent, the confidence of the market I serve, and the reputation of the brand I’m building.

Buyers trust me to stand behind the product.
Developers trust me to elevate the right projects.
And my brand only grows when I protect both.

It was an opportunity to prove, through action, not slogans, that my standards aren’t negotiable.

Office Road exists to represent the best in the business.
That means backing quality, alignment, and credibility every single time… even when it may seem to "cost" me.

Because in the long run, saying “no” is exactly what allows you to say “yes” to the work that defines you.
