URGENT BOAT CALLOUT.
Coastguard Mangawhai responded to an urgent boat call-out last night, Thursday 16th, to a vessel sinking with 2 people on board.
Kokako Rescue was underway within 15 minutes of the initial callout and was with the stricken vessel within another 10 minutes.
Upon arriving, it found the 2 occupants in ankle deep water, in their boat.
They were transferred to Kokako Rescue and after securing the stricken vessel it was towed back into Mangawhai.
Both the 2 crew and their vessel were safely brought back in to the boat ramp, very happy to be ashore.
All in all a great outcome, full credit to the crew of Kokako for a job extremely well done.
