Full road closure from this Saturday - make sure you let any visitors to the area know 👍🏻
🚧 Mangawhai Road closure 🚧
Mangawhai Road between Coal Hill Road and Cames Road will be under a 24/7 closure from 6am on Saturday 20 June until 6pm on Sunday 5 July, to allow road crews to make urgent repairs at the slip site.
Recent site inspections, survey monitoring, and pavement observations indicate that movement of the earth around the site is ongoing, despite temporary stabilisation measures being in place. A full closure is needed to allow crews uninterrupted access to repair the structural issues with the road, and keep it safe for public use and for the contractors fixing the slip.
Detours:
➡ If you’re heading south, turn left onto Coal Hill Road, then right into Te Arai Point Rd, then left to continue onto Mangawhai Road.
➡ If you’re heading north, turn left onto Cames Road, right into Lawrence Road, right onto Kaiwaka Mangawhai Road, and continue into Mangawhai Village.
➡ Alternatively, if you’re heading to/from Auckland, you can avoid the closure by travelling via Kaiwaka.
