Forest Waters enjoys an abundant water supply. The many springs feed 4 large ponds and two streams surrounded by native planting which keeps the water cool and clean via a natural filtration process. Water is pumped from the windmill to a holding tank on a hill, this gravity feeds to a second holding tank, troughs for animals and supplies the garden. A back up pump is on the jetty at the top pond, this pond makes a great swimming spot on hot summer days and had been great for grandchildren learning to row a dinghy or kayak.

Northlands latitude and low elevation produces a subtropical climate, it has the country’s highest annual temperature which is perfect for growing fruit and vegetables all year round. Mid-April produces another bumper crop of Autumn fruits with home-grown Guava, Persimmon, Tamarillo, Cape Gooseberry and an endless supply of Citrus. Without having to leave home during the lockdown, Vitamin-C has been in steady supply at Forest Waters. Stay safe and healthy everybody.
