The Manawatū, Palmerston North, Rangitīkei and Horowhenua property markets continue to build on the positive momentum seen throughout the year, with listing and sales activity showing encouraging signs of growth across the region.
Year-to-date listing numbers are up, with new listings increasing 7% across Manawatū and 3% in Palmerston North City compared to the same time last year.
Across the wider region, buyer enquiry remains steady, open home attendance is healthy, and well-presented properties that are priced in line with current market conditions continue to attract strong interest. We are also seeing an increase in competitive offer situations, particularly for quality homes in sought-after locations. Lifestyle properties continue to attract strong interest from those seeking more space and a change in lifestyle, while residential property remains the most active sector.
Buyers remain informed and considered in their decision-making, taking the time to assess their options, but confidence is continuing to improve as people adjust to current market conditions. The median sale prices have remained relatively stable year-on-year, while demand continues to be evident for quality homes and lifestyle properties.
As we move further into spring, we expect activity to continue building as new listings come to market and buyer engagement increases, creating plenty of opportunity for buyers and sellers across the region.
