A message from the awesome team at Palmerston North City Council

Christmas Day falls on Monday this year and our Resource Recovery team are enjoying a well-deserved day off like most of you. This means a couple changes to kerbside collections and recycling facility opening hours.

👉 If your usual collection day is Monday, please don’t put your rubbish and recycling out on Christmas Day, instead, please put it out on Saturday 30th of December.

👉 Can't wait that long or going away? You can drop off your Council rubbish bag at the EnviroWaste transfer station in Matthews Ave for no extra charge or drop any extra recycling off to our drop off centres in Awapuni, Ferguson St or Ashhurst.

All our recycling facilities will be closed on Christmas Day but we will be operating at normal public holiday hours on Boxing Day, New Year's Day and 2nd of January.

Owner-occupiers continue to be active buyers in our market 🏡, and there is an emergence of first-home buyers as well 🏠. We have seen vendors starting to adjust their prices to meet the market 💰. Open home attendance was good throughout November 📅, especially for new listings 🆕. There was a rise in sales counts in November, and agents predict this will continue 📈. Interest rates, the current economic situation, and difficulty securing finance approval are having a continued impact on the market 💼. As expected, there will be a slowdown during the holiday period 🎄, and the market will pick up later in the new year 🌟
