Earthworks for new wetland areas at Talima Estate have now been completed!

We are pleased to announce that we are making excellent progress in the tree clearing phase of the non-native invasive pine trees.

As we move forward, our focus shifts to the next stages: implementing robust environmental controls and advancing civil design and planning. Exciting progress is happening at the Talima Estate development site. Thank you to everyone who has registered their interest already. Keep an eye out for more information to come very soon! Here’s what you need to know:

🌳 Development: 84 freehold lots ranging from 400 m² to 900 m², with stunning reserve views and elevated panoramas.

💧 Utilities: Potable water, power, sewer, stormwater, and fibre connections.

📅 Titles: Stage one titles are expected by early 2026.

🛠️ Current Activity: Tree harvesting, approved by Porirua City Council, with a start time of 7:30AM on Saturdays as a good faith gesture. Estimated completion by late July, followed by minimal noise for site tidying.

⏰ Work Hours:
Monday - Friday: 6:00AM - 6:00PM
Saturday: 7:30AM - 6:00PM

📆 Next Steps: Earthworks beginning in October 2024 with large equipment, adhering to noise limits, and expected to be completed by May 2025.

We have officially kicked off our journey with a heartwarming blessing ceremony today. Joined by esteemed guests including Hon Chris Bishop, Minister of Housing of NZ, Hon Barbara Edmonds MP for Mana, Her Worship Anita Baker - Mayor of Porirua City and Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira CEO, Helmut Modlik, the event marked a significant milestone for our community's progress and prosperity.

Thank you Reverend Chris Darnell, Vicar at Whitby Anglicans and Chair of the Whitby Residents Association, alongside Teremoana Tauira, Pastor at Victory Church, for conducting the blessing.

Fiso John Fiso ONZM, the founder and driving force behind Talima Estate, shared his emotional connection to the project, "it’s a little emotional seeing up close the work to date being done on our housing development named after my late mother, Auvaa Talima Iemaima Fiso. Still lots to do but like all things you have to make a start.”
