The Chinese Settlement was established in 1867-8 and was in existence until the mid 1930’s. The site underwent an archaeological excavation in 1984.

By car, Arrowtown is a short 20-minute drive from Queenstown Airport. The journey offers some truly breathtaking scenery, including the picturesque Lake Hayes and the stunning peaks of the Southern Alps mountain range.

No car? No worries! Orbus Queenstown provides a regular bus service to and from Arrowtown, connecting it with the main Queenstown hubs.
