Well I never got on the stage at Harcourts Dancing for Hospice (and theres a very good reason for that) but I did my little bit for Rotorua Community Hospice by cutting back these over hanging trees to allow heavy vehicles to pass through with their goods without getting scratched up. Whilst not a huge job, it was nice to give back in some way.

This hedge was huge so i called in the big guns to do some ground work. We wanted to top it but as its terraced and the neighbours were on the high side, we had to leave it to keep their privacy. Did what we could. It did add width to the driveway too.

This was a fun project which required a variety of skills. Chainsaw work, garden clearing, gutter cleaning, waterblasting, the building of two fences each with gates, replacing the old walkway for a ramp, leveling out the driveway with the digger. Now ready for the tenant to move on in.

What a show all dancers put on at the DanceNZmade regional competition at the Sir Howard Morrison Centre last night. The troupe has qualified for the national competition along with several soloists who also represented RLHS.
I must add im a very proud dad as my daughter won the year 9 solo catagory in her first ever solo dance. See comments for my daughters dance should you wish

I took some time to do my own little project at home making this shelf from scratch. The idea, the build and the paint was me but its thanks to Matt who worked hours to plaster each cubby.
The shape of the unit was made that way to make the heat pump look more centered on the wall. Pretty happy with the final result. Makes the room feel more modern, bright and fresh.

My clients were over the mess this tree would leave all over the property. Also the fear of it breaking off and hitting the house in strong winds was another reason to bring it down. Hodgies Services brought it down piece by piece to avoid damage to the surrounding growth and the house. Need a tree removed, give me a bell, maybe I can sort it for you.

Was out with the old and in with new.
One man, two days.
Got rid of this old fence and knocked up a new 25 metre fence. Was pleased with the outcome and the owner was very happy too.
If you have a yard that needs some attention, get in touch and we'll see what I can do to help.

Tidied up this little area by removing existing garden box, cutting and spraying of grass, boxing out the area then covered with weedmat. Painted the fence and boxing before adding stones and pavers. Tidy as, just what this client wanted

Hodgie's has had a few jobs on the go of late, but today's job was very satisfying.
This property had a large palm tree that needed some attention as the fronds were dead and were a hazard to those in the surrounding flats. It also cast a large shadow over the communal clothesline and living spaces in the adjacent flats.
On the same property was a large native which had low branches causing light damage to vehicles coming in and out of the property.
Again, I was to eager to get the job done and I forgot the before pic but the residents are happy with the finish as was I.
Thanks Haley Hodge for the helping hand and the pie for lunch 😊
