REINZ Stats - August 2026

The latest REINZ figures show a relatively stable Taupō property market through August, with the median sale price sitting at $737,000, compared with $735,000 a year ago.

Sales activity was softer, with 63 properties sold during the month, while buyers continued to take a considered approach and carefully compare location, quality and value.

As spring brings more choice to the market, strong presentation, accurate pricing and clear positioning remain important for capturing buyer attention.

The latest REINZ July figures show the Taupō property market remains relatively stable despite a more measured winter market. The district’s median sale price eased slightly to $760,000 in July, down 0.7% compared with the same time last year, while sales volumes increased from 66 to 70 year-on-year, reflecting steady buyer activity across the district.

While conditions continue to vary across the market, Taupō remains balanced, with a good level of choice for buyers and well-presented properties continuing to attract genuine interest.
