Creating light in a home is so important, and I honestly don’t think people give it enough thought.
One of the first things I look for when buying a house is natural light. It doesn’t have to be flooded with direct sunlight all day, but it does need good light coming in through large windows that can brighten the space and reflect light throughout the home.
We’ve just removed some beautiful 1970s amber glass from this hallway. It was lovely, but it didn’t suit the final design. More importantly, it made this area feel dark and gloomy.
As soon as we took it out, the difference was incredible. The hallway became bright, open, and welcoming.
Your environment has a huge impact on how you feel every day. If the first space you walk through each morning feels dark and dull, it can subtly affect your mood. But when a space feels bright, light, and airy, it has a completely different energy.
Light isn’t just a design feature—it changes the way a home feels. And that can change the way you feel too.
