Great initiative by NRNA New Zealand !!

NRNA New Zealand is proud to be working in partnership with Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora on the BreastScreen Aotearoa initiative.

This community-led project aims to increase breast screening awareness, participation, and engagement among Asian communities across Aotearoa New Zealand through collaboration with community organisations and leaders.

We sincerely thank Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora for funding and supporting this important initiative, which will help improve access to vital health information and promote better health outcomes for our communities.

🙏 We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to Dr Ramil Adhikari for his ongoing support, advice, and guidance throughout this journey. His contribution has been invaluable in helping this project move forward.

Together, we are working towards healthier, stronger, and more informed communities.

🌟 Phalaicha Update 🌟

❌ No event today and Friday 26 June.

Since 17 April 2026, our Nepalese community in Tauranga has been coming together every Friday for sports, fun, and great company.

🗓 Regular Schedule:
• Every Friday
• Time: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
• Venue: QEYC, Memorial Hall Court, Tauranga

Please check the schedule for May and June for exact details.

This is a wonderful opportunity to stay active, meet fellow Nepalese brothers and sisters, play sports, and build our community spirit in Tauranga. Everyone is warmly welcome!

Come along, bring your friends and family, and let’s make Phalaicha even bigger and better! 🙌

तौरंगामा आज हाम्रो पहिलो फलैंचामा कम्तिमा १० परिवारबाट ३० जनाको राम्रो उपस्थिती भयो। सबैजनाले रमाईलो गर्नुभयो।

तौरंगा वरिपरी बस्ने नेपाली परिवारहरुलाई जोड्ने यो हाम्रो प्रयास हो। जुन महीना सम्म प्रत्येक शुक्रवार र जुलाई देखी प्रत्येक बुधवार ५.३० बजे देखी ७.३० बजेसम्म फ़लैचामा जोडिन सम्पुर्णलाई अनुरोध एवं निमन्त्रणा छ। यो समयमा सबै उमेर समुहकालागी अरु के गर्न सकिन्छ हामी थप सल्लाह गर्दै जानेछौ।

We are glad to announce that Suyog Acharya is our NABOP Youth Ambassador for 2026-2028.

Suyog is a Year 12 student at Tauranga Boys' College and already making waves in sports and our community!

He's one of the youngest players for the Nepalese Warriors Football Club and has also represented Nepal United at the Tenzing Hillary Cup. On the tennis court, he's a national-level competitor, winning the Junior Quads Super 8 title twice – which even took him to Japan to represent Tauranga Boys' College against top young players!

Suyog also gives back as an assistant coach at Gate Pa Tennis Club, mentoring and inspiring the next generation of players.

As our new NABOP Youth Ambassador, Suyog is passionate about connecting Nepali youth across the Bay of Plenty, encouraging everyone to get involved in community activities, sports, and cultural events.

A huge congratulations and warm welcome, Suyog! We're excited to see the energy and leadership you'll bring to our community.

A huge thank you to NRNA New Zealand, and President Achyut Aryal for organising such a well-organised and memorable Tongariro Crossing camp and hike (27 Feb – 1 March 2026)! 🙏🏔️🇳🇵🇳🇿

Tak Bahadur Gurung ji deserves special credit for all hard work and smooth coordination that made everything run so perfectly. Thank you Tak ji.

Participants came from all over New Zealand – Nelson, Christchurch, Auckland, and beyond – to join. We had 89 people for the two-night camp, and 80 of us conquered the full Tongariro Alpine Crossing – everyone started together and everyone finished strong. Massive congratulations to all! 🎉🥾

It was inspiring to witness our Nepali community uniting with such talent: business owners, data scientists, engineers, PhD scholars, people working in Ministries and Councils, and many more skilled individuals, all coming together for health, adventure, and connection.

A special shoutout to our Hon. Counsellor Dinesh Khadka who joined the hike – your presence and encouragement inspired everyone and brought extra pride to the event. Thank you for walking with us! 👏

Huge thanks also to Blackberry Eatery and Indian Affair Taupo for their support with food arrangements.

Thanks again to NRNA NZ, Achyut ji, Tak ji, the full organising team, and every participant for your equal efforts in making this a resounding success.

I’m already looking forward to the next one and will always be ready to support these meaningful community initiatives.
