At Waipiko Landing, getting outside doesn’t have to mean getting in the car first.

The wetland and walking path sit right alongside the neighbourhood, creating a place for an evening walk, a weekend wander or simply a bit more green space in the everyday.

Same land. A new chapter.

Long before Waipiko Landing began taking shape, this was farmland, part of a property cared for by the Hatwell family for decades.

Today, homes are appearing, streets are becoming lived in and a new neighbourhood is growing on that same land.

A lot has changed, but the connection to this place still matters. The history of the land has helped shape the thinking behind Waipiko Landing, creating a neighbourhood that feels connected to its surroundings, its local story and the Te Awamutu community.

From one generation to the next, the story of this land continues.

The homes, streets and landscape do most of the talking at Waipiko Landing, but we’ve always believed the smaller details deserve just as much thought.

Our entrance sign is one of them, designed to create a strong sense of arrival, with integrated solar lighting so it looks just as good after dark.

Because creating a neighbourhood people can be proud of is about more than the big decisions. It’s also about getting the details right.

Infrastructure that does more.

A new connection is taking shape across the Mangaohoi Stream, creating another way for Waipiko Landing residents to get around on foot or by bike.

Around 600–700 metres of new shared pedestrian and cycle path will connect Waipiko Landing into the existing Park Road cycleway, helping create a new loop for walking and riding.

And the bridge itself is doing double duty. As well as carrying essential wastewater infrastructure needed as Waipiko Landing grows, it has been designed as part of this wider walking and cycling connection.

It’s the same thinking behind the Waipiko wetland, taking infrastructure the neighbourhood needs and looking for opportunities to make it something people can use and enjoy too.

The new connection is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
