I’m talking to buyers across Timaru every day, and there’s one thing I’m hearing a lot at the moment:

“We’re ready to buy… but we’re happy to wait for the right one.”

Buyers are out there. They’re watching new listings, attending open homes and they’re prepared to act — but with choice in the market, they’re also doing their homework.

They’re noticing 👉 presentation.
They’re 👉 comparing value.
They’re asking 👉 more questions.
They’re wanting to 👉 see a price
And if something doesn’t stack up they’re prepared to keep looking.

So if you’re thinking about selling, my recommendation this week is pretty simple:

Don’t just put your property on the market — talk to an agent and position it properly from day one.

Presentation, pricing, marketing and that all-important first impression matters!

That’s what I’m hearing on the ground this week.

I’ve thought a bit about whether to post this.

Us real estate agents probably have a bit of a rep for being pretty good at telling everyone about our awards and to be honest, awards have never really been the reason I do what I do.

🏆 Highest Total Revenue for Residential Properties Sold - New Zealand
🏆 Most Properties Sold Overall in New Zealand

Pretty cool to see them sitting there on my desk, but when I look at them, I mostly think about all the people and properties that got me there.

Every sale has a story behind it. Someone who trusted me to sell their home, a buyer trying to find the right place, a repeat client, a referral, a friend or sometimes someone I’d never met before who just decided to give me a shot.

That’s the part I’m probably most proud of.

I definitely don’t get everything right and I’m always learning, but I do care about the people I work for. I work bloody hard, I try to do what I say I’m going to do and I try to treat people how I’d want to be treated.

And I certainly don’t do it on my own.
