The Seatoun Studio

Lynne Sandri, is full time artist, working out of her Seatoun Studio for more than 28 years. Her home, shared with her husband Graeme, forms a creative world where she lives, works, swims, gardens and creates.

The space hums with creativity. It’s a portal into the mind of an artist. Paintings stretch from floor to ceiling. Scuptured forms occupy the garden. Vibrant fabric prints wrap the furniture. Step inside our home.

We're Jo and Ali Quinn, parents to a family of four with two teenage daughters and a busy lifestyle. We enjoy the outdoors and the bush trails around Brooklyn.

We were drawn to the property because it was a section (where the old house has been removed) that gave us a chance to build a new home in an established neighbourhood.

Our home is unique for the way the house perches above Wellington and tumbles down the hill; it makes for an interesting multi-level living with great views.

We brought strong ideas to the outdoor living areas. We wanted an outdoor shower and a fire; Jo was keen on using Corten steel for that and the firewood hopper. The downstairs retaining wall was turned into a rock climbing wall with a little cavity house at the top for the kids.

We most love the view and that it is warm.
