Kakaruai.

Kakaruai is the South Island robin - a small endemic bird of the South Island, often found in bush and scrub. Recognisable by its dark slate-grey feathers, pale breast, and long legs, it’s best known for its loud, cheerful whistles echoing through the landscape.
