Today we'd like to shine a spotlight on one of our most respected and valued team members, Colin Thompson.

Born and raised in Whangamatā, Colin's connection to our community runs deep. With family ties stretching back generations, his local knowledge is second to none and has been an invaluable asset to countless clients over the years.

After a successful career in the building and construction industry, Colin entered real estate in 1989 and has never looked back. Achieving Associate status with the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand in 1996, he has built a reputation for professionalism, integrity, and genuine care. More than three decades later, Colin continues to be a trusted advisor, accomplished salesperson, and respected leader within our sales team.

What truly sets Colin apart is his commitment to people. Whether helping clients buy or sell property, mentoring colleagues, or supporting the wider community, he listens, understands, and always puts others first. The glowing feedback he receives from clients is a testament to the relationships he builds and the trust he earns.

As winter 2026 concluded, the Whangamatā market displayed encouraging signs of stability and confidence. Sales volumes remained comparable with the previous year, buyer interest persisted through the traditionally quieter months, and holiday home ownership continued to attract purchasers. While wider economic conditions encourage caution, we continue to see confidence in the Whangamatā market despite this, and the enduring appeal of Whangamatā's coastal lifestyle positions the market well heading into spring and towards 2027.

We sold 8 (out of 14) properties in August, the 2 highest sales in Whangamata being listed & sold by us at $2,540,000 and $2,250,000.
