Giving Back to the Community That Supports Us

Cancer touches the lives of far too many New Zealanders. The Cancer Society of New Zealand says one in three people in Aotearoa will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. That means most of us will, at some point, be affected — whether personally, through a family member, friend or someone in our community.

As a real estate agent, I feel incredibly fortunate to now be in a position where I can give something back to the community that has supported me.

The work they do in our community is invaluable. They provide:

* Volunteer drivers who help local cancer patients get to treatment in Palmerston North and Wellington.
* Practical, emotional and financial support for people living with cancer and their families.
* Information, advocacy and support throughout the cancer journey.

Their local volunteers make an extraordinary contribution, giving thousands of hours and driving thousands of kilometres to help people access vital treatment.

This charity is also very personal to me. When my father was diagnosed with cancer, the Cancer Society was there to support him and our family. I saw first-hand the difference their kindness, practical help and genuine care can make during an incredibly difficult time.

So I have decided that, for every home that is listed and successfully sold with me, I will donate $500 to our local Cancer Society.

For me, real estate is about more than buying and selling houses. It is about people, relationships and being part of the community we call home.

I feel incredibly proud that, I can help make a difference to local families facing cancer — one property at a time.
