Alex Smits - Ray White Whangarei Country

Alex Smits - Ray White Whangarei Country 2022 is a year of change and I have taken this in full force with a move to Ray White Whangarei.

Specialising in rural properties of all sizes - from dairy farms and drystock blocks to large lifestyle and coastal farming properties - I am committed to showcasing Northland as a premier lifestyle choice. With six successful years under my belt it is a move I researched thoroughly and I am so excited by the opportunities this presents to my customers. Ray White are an international group with over 180 offices in NZ and incredible strength and coverage across Northland, and I have joint the local and award winning Whangarei team - from their office on Whangarei's iconic Hatea Loop. With innovative systems and technologies they're rethinking real estate and are already connecting more people with more properties - to get you more! As a specialist in the rural market I promote the region as a lifestyle choice and have worked hard to develop solid relationships in the Whangarei region and a positive reputation within the rural community. I've sold over $80 million of rural property in the wider Hikurangi region and have a good knowledge of this market. From its economic growth potential to its geographic and cultural diversity I fully appreciate how much the region has to offer for everyone. I specialise in anything rural and of any size - from dairy farms to drystock, large and boutique lifestyle, and coastal farming properties. With over 23 years of marketing and design experience, my wife Sarah is an integral part of my client service. Together we provide a holistic marketing approach to selling properties, which ensures quality results for both vendors and buyers. I look forward to bringing you an even greater level of service with one of New Zealand’s most proactive groups.

Hikurangi Trail Ride is back.

Chuck the bikes on the trailer, bring the family and come along for a good day out. There’s a 10km loop, a kids’ track, plenty of kai and a good bit of Northland countryside to enjoy.

Best part is, the money raised goes straight back into supporting local clubs, youth programmes and community groups around Hikurangi and Whakapara.

$30 adults | $10 U16s
Cash or bank deposit. Kai and drinks available on site.

It was a great day of Rugby League played at Whananaki Primary School last Friday. It started out with an awesome welcome onto Whananaki Primary School as the school welcomed Hukerenui with a traditional Maori welcome and challenge.

Games were played across two grades - Years 5 and 6 and Years 7 and 8. The intensity was awesome as all the boys and girls gave a 100%. Both games were evenly matched. Watching the footy you wouldn't have thought that for most of the kids this was their first game of league. There was no official score taken - lets just say Rugby League and school pride were the winner on the day.

Next year there is talk about creating a 'challenge shield' to create a bit of competition and buildc the relationship between the two schools.

After the games the kids then had the chance to show of their 'Manu's - jumping off the Whananaki Bridge. Whananaki were awesome hosts providing all teams and volunteers a kai!

Surprisingly - for many Hukerenui Kids this was their first time visiting Whananaki. Sport is a great way for kids to bond and see a varity of different places.

A big thank you to Whananaki Primary for their awesome hosting and to Rugby League Northland for providing player of the day awards and a referee!
