Before you buy land in Bocas, ask one question: is it titled or ROP?
Most land for sale in these islands is ROP, rights of possession. Some of it is titled. They are not the same thing, and the price usually reflects it.
Titled means the property is registered in Panama’s Public Registry. You own it outright, and it is easier to finance, insure and resell.
ROP means you hold the legal right to possess and use the land. It is common, legal and often more affordable, but it is not full ownership, and the paper trail behind it matters a lot.
Neither one is a bad buy. Not knowing which one you are buying is.
