Friday's earthquake was one of the most frightening experiences I've ever lived through.

Since then, I've been reflecting on what it means for those of us living in Panama, those who own property here, and those considering relocating.

As a real estate broker, I feel a responsibility to talk openly about construction quality, building standards, and the importance of doing your due diligence before purchasing a property.

This isn't about creating fear or suggesting that Panama isn't safe. It's about asking the right questions, understanding the properties we're investing in, and learning from what we've experienced.

When purchasing property in Panama, there's so much more to consider than the location, ocean view, or beautiful finishes.

Construction quality, building history, maintenance, and proper due diligence matter tremendously.

The recent earthquake was an important reminder of why I take these things seriously when helping clients purchase real estate.

My job isn't simply to sell properties. It's to help people make informed decisions about one of the biggest investments of their lives.

In just a few short days, something extraordinary happened. ❤️🇵🇦

When we learned about the devastation in Cañas following the earthquake, we knew we had to do something.

And our community answered.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our property owners, clients, friends, and neighbors, we raised thousands of dollars and collected essential supplies for families who lost so much—not just their homes, but their crops and livelihoods.

From receiving donations and purchasing supplies to loading vehicles and delivering everything to Cañas, this is what happens when people come together.

We cannot control natural disasters. But we can control how we respond to them.

And I have never been more grateful to be part of this community.

To every single person who donated, shared our message, volunteered, or helped in any way: THANK YOU.

No act of kindness is too small. Together, we can move mountains. ❤️
