BY CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO
The pedestrian bridge connecting the second floor of O Residences to Robinsons Place Bacolod was opened to the public Wednesday.
Architect and former Bacolod vice mayor Ramiro Garcia said the Skyway, that connects the two buildings, is about 8 feet wide and 15 to 18 meters long.
Garcia designed the Skyway and O Residences building.
The grand opening and blessing of the Skyway was led by Joseph Sian, Robinsons operations director for VisMin, and O Residences owner Naty Sy, and was officiated by Rev. Fr. Romeo Tomonog Jr.
Property manager Owie Arturo Uychiat II said the pedestrian bridge will offer a safe and convenient passage for mallgoers and residents of O Residences. The Skyway can be used by those who come from the 14-storey condominium building who want to go to the mall, and vice versa.
However, they will have to observe mall hours, he said.
O Residences is strategically located in the heart of Bacolod and is close to commercial establishments, schools, transport facilities, churches, and hospitals.
Residents have exclusive access to the state-of-the-art fitness center and on the building’s rooftop is a 25-meter lap pool and a kiddie pool.
The first tower is comprised of 133 units while the second tower, featuring a total of 137 units, introduces 13 loft-style units that allow owners to indulge in sweeping views of the atrium’s tropical garden, as well as the cityscape.*
