Earth WatchPh Digital has issued a health advisory after several areas in Bohol, Cebu, Negros Island, and Western Visayas recorded unhealthy air quality levels.
Authorities warned that pollution—likely caused by extreme heat, dust, smoke, and other pollutants—may pose health risks, especially to children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with respiratory or heart conditions.
Residents are advised to limit outdoor activities, wear face masks, stay hydrated, and keep windows closed when air quality is poor.
Possible health effects include coughing, difficulty breathing, eye and throat irritation, and worsening asthma or allergies.
Officials said air quality may continue to fluctuate and urged the public to follow advisories and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.
