𝐁𝐀𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐎 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 (𝐀𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐋 𝟏𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔) — State-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has signed a 15-year lease agreement with Baguio-based Sophia Real Estate Executives and Development Corporation (SREEDC) to build a themed café at Camp John Hay.

The deal, signed on March 30, 2026, covers a 500-square-meter site and is part of efforts to attract more investments and improve the former American rest and recreation facility’s tourism appeal.

The planned café will add a new attraction inside the John Hay Special Economic Zone, giving visitors another place to relax and enjoy Baguio’s cool mountain setting.

BCDA President and CEO Engr. Joshua M. Bingcang said the project shows strong interest from private investors and supports the goal of making Camp John Hay a top tourism destination.

The development is also expected to create jobs and help boost local businesses, especially in construction and hospitality.

SREEDC President Donna Mae B. Ame in welcoming the partnership, said the company is committed to delivering quality service as part of Camp John Hay’s continued growth.
