UPDATE: PAGASA Administrator Nathaniel Servando says dumped 1.5 months' worth of August rain in Baguio City from Aug. 1-9, at 1,413 millimeters, well above the normal monthly average of 963 mm.

Likewise, the weather agency recorded 957 mm of rain in Iba, Zambales for the same period, exceeding the normal 929 mm level for August in the area.

PUBLIC ADVISORY | MAJOR ROADS LEADING TO BAGUIO TEMPORARILY IMPASSABLE
8 August 2026

The public is advised that two major roads leading to and from Baguio City are currently NOT PASSABLE due to the continuing heavy rains that have triggered road hazards in several areas.

🔴 KENNON ROAD – NOT PASSABLE due to continuous soil and rockfalls, with the possibility of further slope failures.
🔴 NAGUILIAN ROAD – NOT PASSABLE due to landslide.

🟡 ASIN–NANGALISAN-SAN PASCUAL ROAD is still passable but is being closely monitored due to the prevailing weather conditions and the possibility of additional road hazards.

🟢 MARCOS HIGHWAY (ASPIRAS-PALISPIS HIGHWAY) remains the only accessible major route to and from Baguio City at this time.

The Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) continues to closely monitor the affected areas and undertake clearing and response operations, as conditions permit.

Motorists and the traveling public are strongly advised to avoid unnecessary travel, exercise extreme caution, and strictly follow road closure notices and instructions from authorities. With the continuing heavy rains, road conditions may change rapidly and additional hazards may occur.

Please prioritize safety. Do not risk crossing closed or unsafe road sections.

📍 Road conditions will be continuously monitored and updates will be issued as soon as significant changes occur.

Rest assured we are doing our best to contact water delivery services in case of no water supply. But we also want to inform our guests na pag ganito na halos affected buong Baguio,pila rin po sa mga delivery. In case of no water, our staff will give you rain water for toilet flush and mineral water for shower. The Baguio Water District advises its valued customers that '𝗟𝗢𝗪 𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘' 𝘁𝗼 '𝗡𝗢 𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥' supply may be experienced today, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, until further notice due to unscheduled power outages and/or high turbidity affecting several BWD water source facilities brought about by Tropical Storm Maymay.

Our technical personnel are closely coordinating with the concerned offices and agencies to facilitate the earliest possible restoration of power, allowing water production to normalize and water distribution to be gradually restored.

We encourage everyone to prioritize their safety and avoid unnecessary travel to parks and other outdoor recreational areas while inclement weather persists.
