City Administrator Vittorio Jericho Cawis warned Burnham Park boat concessionaires that their concessions will be revoked should they not comply with rates based on existing ordinance, do the required upgrades on their boats and issue official receipts to their customers.

He gave the ultimatum during a meeting with the group, Sept. 2, 2026, called upon and presided by City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) Atty. Rhenan Diwas at City Hall.

“This is the final warning. If they continue not to comply, then we will be compelled to open their slots to other residents wishing to apply as boating concessionaires,” he stressed.

The meeting was called a day after the reopening of the rejuvenated Burnham Park lake on Sept. 1, 2026, Baguio Day, after it was observed that some of the concessionaires raised their rates and most of the boats were not upgraded as earlier agreed upon.

It was agreed in the meeting that the old rate of P250/half hour per boat will be charged and those that have not been upgraded will not be allowed to be used by the public starting Sept. 2, 2026. -gabykeith/PIO
