No child should ever have to witness or experience this kind of horror.

A school should always be a safe haven for students, teachers, and staff. It should be a place where children feel protected, where they are given the opportunity to learn and grow, and where their futures are built, not ended by violence.

We mourn the young lives lost, and we pray for the healing of those who were injured. We also pray for strength and comfort for their families, classmates, teachers, and the entire school community.

We call for justice and for a thorough and transparent investigation into this tragedy. Authorities must determine not only what happened, but also what circumstances led these young people to commit such a grave act of violence, including how they obtained access to fi****ms.

We urge the Department of Education, local authorities, and schools across the country to take stronger and immediate measures to protect every student, teacher, and staff member. Warning signs must not be ignored. Concerns involving bullying, mental health, threats, and access to weapons must be addressed before another life is lost.

Schools must remain places of learning, hope, and growth, never places of fear, violence, and death.

Our prayers are with everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.
