Large strawberry-themed cakes have long been among the festivalβs most anticipated attractions. Previous celebrations showcased creative designs, including a giant twin cake in 2023 and, in 2025, a cake shaped like a kayabang, the traditional basket of the Ibaloi people. Other editions featured giant strawberry shortcakes and elaborate cupcake displays.
First celebrated in 1981, the festival promotes La Trinidadβs thriving strawberry industry and supports local farmers. In 2004, the municipality gained international recognition after baking the worldβs largest strawberry shortcake, serving around 10,000 people, earning a Guinness World Record. The festival was formally institutionalized in 2011 through a municipal ordinance, highlighting its role in tourism, agriculture, and cultural identity.
The 2026 Strawberry Festival, running from March 5 to April 1, celebrates the townβs farmers and the fruit that has become a defining symbol of La Trinidad.
