Way back 2019, we were so worried about moving from the big city into the province. We’ve always been urban dwellers. I have lived in 13 different countries and hubby - well, have always been a city boy.
Turned out, it’s one of the best decisions ever. On our first night in our new home, we slept counting the stars and staring at the night sky. The kids slept sooo long and I feel so refreshed. There is something in that provincial breeze!
Waking up to singing birds and rustling leaves everyday. We started an edible garden at the side of our house. Squeals of delight from my kids whenever we harvest fresh Calamansi, kalabasa flowers, ginger, turmeric, tomatoes, eggplants, sitaw.
Whenever we go to the city, we can’t wait to go back home. And whenever we’re home, it’s hard to get us out. That’s how much we looooved moving out of the urban jungle. Where we are now is what I call a .
Shortly after our move, Covid pandemic broke out. I couldn’t imagine all of us living in a small condo for the duration of this pandemic.
Where we moved, there’s a cul de sac playground behind our house. The kids can play and bike around. We can walk to the big park and the green perimeter of the village for our 10,000 steps or simply step out of the house to the garden for little pockets of nature. It’s been a true luxury!
