Fact Check: Correct info is power!

1. Misconception: XU will give up its 6 hectares campus at the heart of the city in Corrales.

Truth: XU will retain 2 hectares of its property in Corrales to house the School of Medicine, College of Law, and Graduate School in a re-designed campus. Ergo, XU will to continue to have presence in the downtown area.

The remaining 4 hectares will be developed into a mix use commercial complex e.g. mall, condo, etc retaining the XU church at the center. The re-developed site will be called Xavier City.

2. Misconception: Manresa’s wildlife sanctuary will be destroyed.

Truth: XU will retain the 25 hectares forest reserve in Manresa. It will only develop 21 out of the 63 hectares Manresa campus to house modern and well-designed facilities for its undergraduate colleges. This will also feature 14 hectares University town comprising of mix-use commercial complex which will be called Manresa Town.

3. Misconception: XU will close down its agriculture programs.

Truth: College of Agriculture labs and demonstration farms will be moved from Manresa to XU’s 104 hectares Puerto property called El Gaucho.

More so, while the Board has approved this plan, XU is still seeking approval from the Superior General of the Society of Jesus in Rome before the project takes off.
