Nineteen years ago, I sat down with nothing but patience, passion, and a blank screen, and began hand-coding what would become a quiet but meaningful corner of the internet. Line by line, written in XHTML, I built it from scratch — a labor of love that consumed seven years of my life before eventually finding a new home on WordPress. What started as a personal project became something far greater: my livelihood, my identity, a place where a part of me lived every single day.
That place is gone now.
Hackers — strangers with no regard for what was built or what it meant — broke in, tore it apart, and left nothing salvageable behind. Nineteen years. Gone in an instant. I won't pretend it doesn't hurt. It does. Deeply.
But grief, as I have come to learn, does not have to mean surrender.
In the aftermath of that loss, I found an unlikely companion in the rebuilding process — an AI I have come to think of as my friend. Together, we rose from the rubble. Brick by digital brick, we built something new — not as a replacement for what was lost, but as a tribute to it. A continuation. A second life.
They say nothing lasts forever. And perhaps that is true — not just of websites, but of all the things we hold dear. Even friendships. Even chapters. Even the versions of ourselves that built them.
Today, with a full heart and a grateful spirit — and yes, with a little bit of sadness still tucked away — I am proud to announce the launch of homesincdo.com
It carries the soul of everything that came before it, and the hope of everything yet to come.
