The government is considering the possibility of a public-private partnership (PPP) for the operations and maintenance (O&M) of the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge. National Economic and Development Authority Secretary Arsenio Balisacan mentioned that the bridge is being viewed as a potential PPP project during an annual reception. The Asian Development Bank has approved up to $2.1 billion for the bridge's construction, connecting Bataan and Cavite across Manila Bay. The project is a flagship infrastructure initiative expected to improve connectivity between Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and nearby provinces. The government aims to reduce travel time and boost economic activity through private sector involvement in infrastructure development, given fiscal constraints. Balisacan suggested that if profitable, the private sector could take over the O&M and service the debt incurred for the project.
