After his alleged resurrection, Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene and while the latter was about to approach the former he said “do not touch me for I am not yet ascended to the Father”. The story can be read from chapter 20 of John.
At night of the same day (first day) Jesus appeared to some of his disciples but Thomas was not present. They reported to Thomas about this occurrence and Thomas was doubtful so he said “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
After a week or 8 days have passed, he again appeared to his disciples now in the presence of Thomas. Upon entering into a closed room Jesus said to Thomas “Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.” (20:27)
In the first case, Jesus doesn’t want Mary Magdalene to touch him the reason was he is not yet ascended in heaven and is not in harmony with the second case by letting Thomas thrust his fingers into his side in spite that he was not yet ascended!
The book of Acts (1:3) gives us idea that Jesus allegedly ascended after 40 days. It is clear that Jesus has not yet ascended when Thomas touched him.
The narrative in John chapter 20:11-28 is a self-contradictory and very doubtful! Jesus did not abide by his own rule. Question is who wrote this kind of story tinted with such a huge irreconcilable errors? If the writer of John is under the influence of the Ruakh ha Qodesh then there will be no such error will occur! If Jesus is God as most Christian claim, how is then he is so inconsistent? This only shows to the contrary!
