Nine projects, promoted by 6 Urban-LEDS cities, were chosen to be presented to potential funders at the Global Infrastructure Basel (GIB) Summit 2015, in Basel, 27-28 May. These projects were selected from a group of 150 project proposals submitted.

Catbalogan was one of the said urban-LEDS cities and the project presented by City Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan was the SKY CITY MEGA PROJECT.

Representatives of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) who were in Catbalogan City last March 17, 2016 to assess the implementation of the Senior High School Program visited the proposed site of the Catbalogan Sky City Mega Project.

The Sky City will have a city government complex that will house national and regional offices, one of which is for the Division of Catbalogan City, Department of Education and a proposed separate public integrated school.

City Schools Division Superitendent, Mr. Cristito Eco led the team along with City Treasurer, Ms. Elizabeth Lim; OIC-City Budget Officer, Ms. Ma. Theresa Aroza; and City Tourism Officer, Mr. Ador Hurtado.

The Regional Development Council (RDC) VIII has officially endorsed our Catbalogan Sky City Mega Project to the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Center for technical assistance through Resolution No. 22 series of 2015.

CATBALOGAN CITY -- South Korea’s Odin Energy Co. Ltd. is preparing to start installing its first wind tower system here, which is expected to generate up to 200 megawatts (MW) of power that will cover 90% of the city’s electricity demand.

Suntrust's Technical Team visited Catbalogan City today and made inspection of the site of the Catbalogan Sky City, which was facilitated by City Investment Promotions Officer Mr. Raul Reyes and Assistant City Engineer Efren Saavedra.
