DMCI Project Throwback: Looking Back. Building Forward.
Some projects may be completed, but their impact continues to be felt for years to come.
Join us as we revisit the milestones that have shaped DMCI's journey in engineering and construction.
Today, we feature:
Project: Shangri-La's Boracay Resort and Spa
Location: Boracay, Aklan
Completed: 2009
Awarded as part of the Travel and Leisure Readers' Top 500 List 2024, Shangri-La Boracay exudes tropical island luxury in a sheltered bay on Boracay’s pristine northern coastline. It has 219 rooms and villas showcasing contemporary style, enriched with Filipino touches. The resort’s layout offers spectacular vistas of lush green scenery and azure ocean views from every vantage point.
GFA: 39,110 square meters
Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort and Spa is the island’s biggest and most luxurious resort. It is situated on one of Boracay’s mountainsides, facing the length of two white-sand beaches. The resort has full guest facilities, including a ballroom, tennis courts, and Shangri-La’s trademark Chi spa.
While the architectural finish is indigenous to the Philippines, landscaping accessories and sculptures are of Indonesian descent. All vertical structures, villas, tree houses and guest rooms are strategically located to provide a view of the sea, ensuring that guests always feel that they are in paradise.
