Tenants are expected to leave the unit clean and orderly. If the space is left with unpleasant odors, grease stains, mold, or trash, cleaning expenses will be necessary.

2️⃣ Professional cleaning has a cost
Cleaning involves paid services, time, equipment, and materials. Property owners should not shoulder the cost of cleaning messes they did not cause.

3️⃣ Units must be ready for the next occupant
A clean and presentable unit is essential for re-renting. Security deposits help restore the property to a move-in-ready condition.

4️⃣ This is standard rental practice
Across condos, apartments, and boarding houses:
👉 Charges for cleaning, damages, and unpaid utilities may be deducted from the security deposit.

5️⃣ Clean unit = full refund
• Leave the unit clean → receive a full refund (less valid deductions)
• Leave the unit dirty → cleaning fees will apply
