Most parents end up booking somewhere across town and spending the visit in traffic. We're inside IT Park β€” walking distance from the academies at TGU Tower and Park Centrale.

Twin-bed rooms if you're staying together. A quiet building. Somewhere they can come and do their laundry, eat a proper meal, and complain about their teachers for an hour.

Then walk them back to class.

Fifteen minutes by boat off Moalboal there's a small limestone island ringed by wall diving that divers travel across the world for.

Pescador drops into deep blue on every side. Caves, coral walls, thresher and reef sharks if you're lucky, and the sardines are on the way back.

You don't have to dive. Snorkelling the top of the wall is spectacular on its own, and every island-hopping boat from Panagsama includes it.

Combine it with the sardine run and turtles and you have a full day on the water for not much money.

Arriving by sea? Pier 1 is closer to us than the airport is.

OceanJet runs fast craft into Cebu Pier 1 from Tagbilaran, Getafe, Ormoc, Siquijor, Dumaguete and the Camotes. Tagbilaran is the busiest crossing β€” about 2 hours, with departures spread right across the day.

Check in at the pier at least 30 minutes before your sailing. It works like an airport: ticket, check-in counter, assigned gate.

From Pier 1, a Grab or taxi to IT Park is roughly 20 minutes. Then you're here.

A living tornado of millions of sardines, shifting and folding like smoke underwater. And the best part: you don't need a boat.

At Panagsama Beach in Moalboal the bait ball sits just off the shore, usually in a few metres of water. Walk in with a mask and swim out. That's it.

It's there year-round. Sea turtles graze along the same drop-off, so you'll probably meet one on the way back in.

Moalboal is about three hours southwest. Plenty of people do it as a day trip from the city, but it's worth a night if you can.

Mask and snorkel. Reef-safe sunscreen only.

Landing at Mactan? There's a bus that drops you two minutes from our door.

MyBus runs a direct route: Mactan-Cebu Airport β†’ Cebu Business Park β†’ Cebu IT Park Transport Terminal. β‚±50. Air-conditioned, luggage racks, picks up right outside both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

It runs roughly hourly, first trip around 7:00 AM, last one about 10:00 PM. Going back the other way, IT Park to the airport starts about 6:40 AM and finishes around 8:40 PM.

The terminal it drops you at is across from Ayala Central Bloc. We're a two-minute walk from there.

Three hours of scrambling down a limestone gorge, swimming through cold turquoise pools and jumping off whatever cliff you're brave enough for. It ends at Kawasan Falls.

This is the single best day out in Cebu and it isn't close.

You'll need reasonable fitness β€” there's trekking, swimming and jumps you can walk around if you'd rather. Go with a licensed guide and a helmet and life vest. Every jump has a lower option.

Badian is about three hours south. Most operators collect from IT Park early.

Waterproof your phone. You will want it and you will drop it.
