GENTRI GLOBAL CITY
GenTri Global City is a mixed-use development set to rise in General Trias, a planned 100-hectare township by Solar Resources Inc. The first project within the estate is Cerulean Residences, a 25-hectare premium residential community by Century Properties. Together with many other projects, these developments position General Trias as a future global city.
Rather than referring to a single development, GenTri Global City can serve as a collective name for the township developments across the city. This approach promotes stronger integration and helps create well-defined urban districts through strategic zoning. With major developers such as Ayala Land, Federal Land, Filinvest Land, Megaworld Corporation, Robinsons Land, SM Prime, and Vista Land establishing multiple mixed-use and township projects, the city is rapidly evolving.
Large-scale townships are already reshaping the landscape, with emerging business and commercial hubs in Maple Grove, Riverpark, and Lancaster New City Zone 2. Growth centers in Malabon, Tejero, Brookside, and Manggahan continue to expand, while established industrial estates such as Gateway Business Park, Golden Gate Business Park, and the Cavite Economic Zone (EPZA) strengthen the cityโs economic foundation. Connectivity is further enhanced by three CALAX interchanges serving the entire city.
Mixed-use zones such as Uptown, Midtown, and Downtown can support high-density residential communities, commercial centers, and business districts. The Capital District, envisioned as the new city center, may serve as the administrative and central business hub, while the Historic District (Poblacion) can be preserved as a cultural and tourism destination that highlights the cityโs heritage.
However, the title Global City must represent more than branding; it should reflect a clear purpose and direction. Achieving this vision requires the qualities of a world-class city, including improved infrastructure and transportation, smart and green development, and a well-planned zoning framework that supports sustainable growth. Thoughtful urban planning can guide expansion while preserving livability and character. With smart zoning and sustainable design, General Trias can meet the challenges of rapid urbanization and create vibrant, efficient, and resilient spaces for generations.
