LOOK | SAMAL ISLAND–DAVAO CITY CONNECTOR (SIDC) BRIDGE NOW 55.97% COMPLETE
The Samal Island–Davao City Connector (SIDC) Bridge has officially reached 55.97% completion as of April 23, 2026, marking another significant milestone for one of Mindanao’s most ambitious infrastructure projects. Construction activities continue to advance across multiple sections of the bridge, with more structural components steadily rising across the Davao Gulf.
The P23.039-billion toll-free four-lane bridge spans 4.76 kilometers and is designed to dramatically improve connectivity between Davao City and Samal Island. Once completed, travel time between the two areas is expected to be reduced from nearly an hour by ferry to just a few minutes by land, providing faster and more convenient access for residents, commuters, businesses, and tourists.
As progress continues, the SIDC Bridge stands as a symbol of Metro Davao’s growing infrastructure development and long-term economic expansion. The project is expected to strengthen tourism, improve mobility, support trade and logistics, and further position the region as one of Mindanao’s major growth centers.
