Following the recent earthquake, structural engineers and inspectors from the City Engineering Office and the Department of Building Official have completed a thorough safety assessment of De Leon Espacio.

Having successfully met all post-earthquake safety guidelines and structural checks, the establishment is NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN and cleared for public use.

OFFICIAL ADVISORY: TEMPORARY BUILDING EVACUATION & SAFETY INSPECTION

TO: All Tenants, Employees, and Visitors of De Leon Espacio

DATE: June 8, 2026
SUBJECT: Post-Earthquake Structural Assessment and Safety Measures

Following the powerful Magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck off the coast of General Santos City at 7:37 AM today, which caused strong ground shaking across our region, the Management of De Leon Espacio is implementing immediate safety protocols to ensure the integrity of our facilities and the well-being of everyone in our community.

Please be guided by the following directives:
1. Temporary Building Closure
To prioritize safety, the De Leon Espacio building is temporarily closed. all tenants and personnel are allowed to check their area with precaution.

2. Ongoing Structural Inspection
Our facility management team, along with qualified structural engineers, is currently conducting a thorough, top-to-bottom inspection of the property.

This assessment covers:
Load-bearing structures, columns, and concrete beams.
The exterior facade, windows, and perimeter boundaries.
Utility systems including electrical grids, water mains, mechanical lines and emergency stairwells.

3. Anticipated Aftershocks
PHIVOLCS has warned of active aftershocks following this morning's event. Should you feel subsequent shaking while near the vicinity of the building, please practice standard safety protocols (Duck, Cover, and Hold) and move to open areas away from glass facades, power lines, and structures.

NEXT UPDATE
We are working diligently to complete the technical assessment as quickly and safely as possible. A status update regarding the inspection results and target reopening time will be communicated via our official channel.
