RIP Peter Cullen. 🕊️💔
Today we say goodbye to a true legend. Peter Cullen wasn’t just the voice behind Optimus Prime, he was the voice that brought one of the greatest characters of all time to life. For generations of fans, his voice became a part of our childhood, our memories, and moments that we’ll carry with us forever.
Every time we heard “Autobots, roll out!”, we knew exactly who was speaking. That deep, powerful, calm and inspiring voice made Optimus Prime feel like more than just a fictional character. He felt like a leader, a protector, a hero and someone we could look up to.
Peter Cullen gave Optimus Prime a soul. He gave him strength when things were difficult, compassion when others needed it, and courage when there was nothing left but hope. His performance became iconic and impossible to replace.
For many of us, Transformers was a huge part of growing up. Watching Optimus Prime fight for what was right, protect his friends and never give up taught us lessons that went beyond the screen. And behind all of those moments was Peter Cullen’s unforgettable voice.
Thank you, Peter, for giving us a character that will never be forgotten. Thank you for the childhood memories, the excitement, the laughter, the battles and all the moments that made us fall in love with Transformers.
Optimus Prime may be a fictional character, but the voice Peter Cullen gave him will live forever.
