Steps to Verify a Villa Listing:

Reverse Image Search: Copy the listing photos and use Google Lens or TinEye to see if the images appear elsewhere on the web under different names.

Insist on In-Person Viewing:
Only deal with agents or owners who will show you the property in person. If they are in another country, ask a trusted friend or agent to view it on your behalf.
Check the Profile: Investigate the Facebook profile of the poster. Brand new profiles, or those with very few friends or suspicious activity, are common with scammers.

Video Call Tour: If you cannot meet in person, ask for a live video walkthrough of the property, not just pre-recorded videos.
