The 6.75-million-unit housing backlog will remain unaddressed if the plight of Filipino real estate entrepreneurs continues to be ignored. For too long, the biggest threat against these entrepreneurs has been left unchallenged, and to date, close to half a million local practitioners have been constrained by the antiquated RESA Law.

Not only does this anti-poor and anti-Filipino policy expose our fellow entrepreneurs to expensive and senseless requirements, it fails to hold foreign "agents" to the same standards as our fellow Pinoys.

Moreover, any attempt to overcome the challenges wrought by RESA through tech and innovation are met with skepticism and aggression, no matter how revolutionary. It's time for us to act, by pushing for legislative change and creating a tech-enabled pathway that will accelerate industry growth.
