🔵 The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), through Board Resolution No. 263, Series of 2025, has approved changes to the Pasay City-Alabang-Iloilo City provincial bus route.

This newly-modified route will now link Cubao, Quezon City to General Santos City, passing through Metro Manila Skyway, SLEX, Alabang, Batangas City Pier, Panay provinces, Iloilo City, Bacolod City, Dumaguete City, Dipolog City, Cagayan de Oro City, Bukidnon, Tacurong City, and Koronadal City, and vice versa.

The modification is expected to improve travel for passengers in General Santos City and the SOCCSKSARGEN Region, offering more reliable connections to Visayas and Luzon.

Ceres Transport is anticipated to operate the new route, though its official announcement has yet to be made.

🔵 Here are some of the developments in General Santos City we can look forward to in 2026:

🛣️ Mabuhay Underpass – This long-awaited project is expected to be finally completed by early 2026. It aims to help ease the ever-increasing traffic volume along the National Highway in Dadiangas North and City Heights.

🏬 New Gaisano Mall of GenSan – A mall redevelopment featuring a modern lobby and new atrium is set to open in early 2026. Popular retail stores are also expected to open.

🛒 S&R Membership Shopping – Now in the early stage of land development, this upscale warehouse-style shopping center is expected to open before December 2026 and may create around 200 jobs.

🧺 Central Public Market Redevelopment – A partnership project between the city government and the private sector. It is currently undergoing a 150-day Swiss challenge to allow other companies to compete with Robinsons Land Corporation's proposal. The challenge ends on August 28, 2025. Construction may begin next year, although no final timeline has been set.

🎓 Kolehiyo de Heneral Santos – A planned city college that will offer affordable and quality education for GenSan residents. Construction is expected to begin in 2026.

We remain hopeful and optimistic that these projects will stay on track and bring positive growth to General Santos City.
