I invited landowners and developers with available properties following a recent interview highlighting investment opportunities in 2025. During the interview, Lee Chiu identified Iloilo as a major market outside Metro Manila and Cebu, where the demand for office space exceeds the supply.
We want to ensure that Iloilo maintains its strong trajectory of growth so we can continue providing employment opportunities for our graduates. As a university city, Iloilo produces high-quality graduates who deserve promising career paths within their hometown.
We cannot simply sit back and wait for progress to happen. Since I first became Mayor in 2001, I have always believed that progress is a result of collective effort. This is why I have taken the initiative to meet with landowners and developers to drive further development.
I challenge these stakeholders, just as I did two years ago during a similar meeting, which led to Ayala heeding the call to construct buildings for BPOs. Today, I am pleased to share that key attendees, including Rockwell, SMDC, Gaisano ICC, Federal Land, Ayala and Florete Land have expressed their commitment to contribute to the continued growth of Iloilo City.
In return, the Iloilo City Government will support them by endorsing their PEZA applications, providing greater incentives for investors and developers to thrive in our city.
