Megaworld’s Iloilo Business Park is celebrating its first anniversary as Iloilo City’s designated Center of Arts and Culture.
To mark this milestone, the township is hosting "Experience Iloilo City" throughout the entire month of July. This vibrant celebration showcases Ilonggo heritage, artistry, and community through seven core creative disciplines: sculpture, painting, architecture, music, literature, dance, and cinema.
Key Highlights of the Celebration
The "Pagsinapol" Sculpture Unveiling (July 17): A central highlight featuring the ceremonial lighting of Pagsinapol, a new public monument by AR Sculptura at the Festive Walk Road Roundabout. The lighting will be followed by an evening celebration with ABS-CBN star appearances (Blood vs. Duty cast) and local music artists.
Immersive Art Installations: Festive Walk Iloilo will host three major heritage installations:
Flourish: A suspended display of handcrafted crochet flowers symbolizing the city's floral diversity.
Sailing Stories: Paraw-inspired artworks depicting iconic local landmarks.
Bloom of Light: A luminous, floral-themed indoor installation highlighting Panay's natural heritage.
Visual Arts & Exhibitions: A diverse lineup of art showcases, including the pageant-themed Diseño Iloilo fashion exhibition, a photo exhibit by the Gilopez Kabayao Foundation, and MEGA-Ani, a grand projection art mapping event on the façade of Casa De Emperador on July 31.
Music & Performance: Live music will take center stage at Spill: The Music Festival on July 18, while dance and local folklore will come together on July 27 in Haraya: An Ilonggo Cultural Show.
Architecture & Literature: Creative minds can participate in the Pinta Ciudad Arts Competition on July 23, a Komiks Workshop on July 18, and the Iloilo Children’s Book Fair from July 29 to 31.
Local Cinema (July 31): The month-long festivities will conclude with a screening of the film With Love, Bridgit by director Kevin Piamonte at the ILOMOCA.
Taste of Iloilo (July 17–19): A three-day culinary fair celebrating local flavors and traditional Ilonggo dishes at the Festive Walk Parade.
