In sales, you are either a Hunter or a Farmer. A Hunter (most sales people) wakes up every day and has to find something to kill and eat until tomorrow when they have to do it all over again. That could be 40 years with the same career and never building any repeat business; just leaving a trail of bodies behind.
What a Farmer does is completely different. What a Farmer does is put seed out; and plants it, and nurtures it, and meticulously waters, gardens, and weeds it, and continuously adds value until one day the crop yields. And the crop yields for years and years. If you do this correctly at the beginning, you're not going to need to worry about: "Where's my next sale coming from?"
