Timeline: Nuvali Development (2007โ2025)
2007โ2009: Site preparation & early planting
In September 2008, Ayala Land planted the first trees on the former Yulo haciendaa precursor to masterโplanning the ecoโcity.
Nuvali was formally launched in 2009, unveiled as a 17 km green, masterโplanned community spanning Sta. Rosa, Calamba, and Cabuyao, Laguna, incorporating both Ayala Land and Yulo family landholdings.
2009โ2015: Retail, amenities & infrastructure
2009 saw the opening of Solenad 1, a retail hub later relaunched as an Ayala Mall in 2015.
Development progressed to about 1,800 hectares, with 85,000 sqm of retail and office space, hotel rooms, BPO offices, schools (Xavier School, Miriam College), leisure amenities, and sold ~12,000 housing units by 2015 .
2016โ2019: Expansion & diversification
QualiMed Hospital opened around 2017 in the Santa Rosa side.
Development expanded to approximately 2,290โ2,400 hectares by 2019, establishing Nuvali as Ayala Landโs largest estate .
CALAX expressway segments opened around 2019, improving connectivity to Metro Manila and CALABARZON.
2020โ2024: District building and lifestyle mix
Launch of Nuvali TechnoHub office towers, the Lakeside Evozone commercial campus, and LHK South office building (PEZA-approved, 10โstorey) from late 2022 into 2024.
Introduction of The Shops at Central Bloc, Central Bloc commercial lots, and East Bloc Garden; multiple retail and community blocks opening between 2023โ2025.
Redevelopment of Solenad into Ayala Malls Nuvali began in 2024.
2025: Current phase โ civic hub & mall expansion
In February 2025, Ayala Land and Santa Rosa City signed an MOU to build a 2โhectare Santa Rosa Civic Complex inside Nuvali, featuring a convention center, city one-stop shop, sports facilities, and command center .
Mall expansion: Ayala Malls Nuvali to add nearly 50,000 sqm in two phasesโPhase 1 opening in Q4 2025, Phase 2 in 2026โbringing total GLA to 100,000+ sqm, with new parking (360 slots) by Q3 2025 and new retail hub โThe Shops at Central Blocโ by November 2025.
